Enjoying the Sun

Hello. I have been enjoying the fact that my side effects are finally subsiding. The weather has been great, I took my wife on a date to see Alice in Wonderland in 3D (Great movie!).

I got an adjustable silver ring for my radiation phase of Chemo when I will be loosing a bit of weight.

I ran into Dave Chappelle in Yellow Springs on Saturday (I was like "Hey Dave" and he waved like "Do I know him?"). It has been a good few days, but Jess has a sinus and throat infection and I am able to take care of her for the fist time in a long while. That's all for now guys. Got a week before my last Induction Chemo.......gonna enjoy the weather for now.

  1. Hey Tony! That is so funny....I saw Dave Chappelle at the Fairfield Commons mall on Sunday! He must have been out and about this weekend. He was paying for a photo with the Easter Bunny. I did not say anything to him, though. Good Luck this week. -Joy

  4. I've thought of you often these past couple weeks. I just returned to work after 3 months off for hip replacement surgery. When I learned about your cancer, I remembered how generous you and Jess were at Mike Hawk's bake sale last year, something that no one else but the one working would know. I want you to know that you both are in my thoughts and prayers. I'm sending healing vibes your way. Mike is doing so well, back to work, all negative tests for cancer so far. The only bad news about Mike is that his wife Kimpy (she worked the bake sale with me) found out a couple weeks ago that she has breast cancer again. She had her second mastectomy last Thursday. The doctor says it was very early stages, think they got it all, but she will have to have chemo anyway. I took her out to lunch today and she is doing great and looks great. When I got home after taking her to lunch, my father called to say he was stopping by. He told me that a small molish thing on the back of his upper arm that was removed 2 weeks ago turned out to be melanoma. he said the doctor told him it was a 3 (I assume stage III). So we may be having a big reunion at the cancer center. The Browns, the Hawks, and my father and me. Life sucks!!

I'm glad you are doing so well. Your cancer cell type and treatment plan seems very similiar to Mike's and he is cancer free. I have always been impressed with your positive personality and your overall enthusiasm. I'm sure all these great characteristics you have will banish this nasty disease right out of your body. I love this blog and admire your courage in sharing your experiences. Hope to see you soon.

  5. Tony, I just caught up with your blog this afternoon. We've (all of us at the Imaging Center) have been wondering how things are going with your treatments. It's wonderful to read your wife's comments about your attitude. I'm sure many of us would not be as upbeat as you two seem to be. And it's a good journal. Ever thought about making this into a book?

I don't know if you're aware that I make decorated cakes. If you're ever in the mood for something special, let me know. I'll be glad to bake up something for your sweet tooth.
